I was asked by a cycling enthusiast to design something for him. He is setting up a concept and app/website similar to existing one Strava. Users will be able to ‘race’ against other users on the same routes (time trial style). They want to create a globally distinguishable cycling ranking system. Loosely inspired by World Championship bands, Country bands and Judo belts, they have designed a band to differentiate your level. It is something that can be incorporated digitally and physically across any merchandise. It is something that can be understood globally, something that relates to the use of colour in cycling – eg the Yellow Jersey of the Tour de France.
